Glidr Privacy Policy

Last updated: March 3, 2026

Overview

Glidr is a ski navigation app developed by NV-IT. We are committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what data we collect and how we use it.

Data We Collect

Location data: Glidr uses your device's GPS to provide turn-by-turn ski navigation, locate you on the map, and share your position with friends during active friend sessions. Location data is only accessed while you are actively using the app.

Camera: The camera is used solely to scan QR codes when joining a friend session. No photos or videos are captured or stored.

Display name: If you use the "Find Friends" feature, the name you enter is shared with other members of your session so they can identify you on the map.

Data Storage

Ski area map data and your preferences (selected ski area, routing preferences, display name) are stored locally on your device. No personal data is sent to external analytics services.

When using the Find Friends feature, your display name and real-time location are temporarily stored in Firebase Realtime Database for the duration of the session. This data is automatically deleted when the session ends.

Data Sharing

We do not sell, trade, or share your personal data with third parties. Location data shared during friend sessions is only visible to other members of that session.

Third-Party Services

Glidr uses the following third-party services:

Firebase (Google): Used for anonymous authentication and real-time friend session data. Subject to Firebase Privacy Policy.

OpenStreetMap: Map tiles and ski area data are sourced from OpenStreetMap. Subject to OSM Privacy Policy.

Children's Privacy

Glidr is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected on this page with an updated date.
